My mother was the one who talked about the story saying “We’re off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz!”. And on the 8th (I think) of November, 2018 I began this read.
I absolutely love this book. After a ride to my soccer game and back, I already read I would say 80 pages, but I could have read more due to my father’s music in the background.
Through out the story I began to love the characters. It’s as if they were my own. And that’s what I like about this book.
Thought one thing that I would have changed if I was to author, would be to create more of a story . I specifically remember saying to myself while reading,” The author could have have extending this instead of me reading about her going to sleep, then waking up”. Personally, I feel like more is to belong in between those paragraphs. One thing I would do if I was the author is to make scenes when Dorothy is talking to her do like any other dog lover would do. Although if the author couldn’t do such thing, then I completely understand. I feel like this story could be made to maybe 500-600 just due to adding more and being descriptive. Because I would read any other story like let’s say “It”. You would read how the characters COMPLETELY saw It and what It holds. And that’s what I like about a story.
Oh and this book is free on apple which is better because there is NO way I would have just went to my local Barnes and Noble and purchased this book. But now, I’d might consider it.

It’s interesting to note the differences between the book & the movie.
I love the book version much better.
Very different experience than the film
Let me be honest; I love the movie. It is beautiful, with wonderful actors, costumes, scenes and music. And the plot in the movie is derived from the book. Even the characters are clearly recognizable, although with slight differences. But it’s the differences that make me advocate spending the time reading the book.
The irony of the scarecrow not needing brains, the tin man not needing a heart, etc. is underlined frequently enough to make a reader reconsider his/her own self doubts. The added magic lands are also intriguing.
The fantasies of L. Frank Baum are appealing to adults and children, and the film, however wonderful it is, doesn’t eliminate the pleasure of the book he wrote.

The book was amazing,I read this book for an essay and I was glad to read it.but I was wondering when oz went on the ballon,didn’t the people see how old he was,or did I just skip something?
